India's Essar Shipping Limited (ESL) announced on Mar 20 that it inducted its third MiniCape Vessel "Ishwari" (105,000 dwt), which had been built at STX Dalian Shipyard, into its operating fleet. "Ishwari" is the third vessel delivered after MiniCape Vessel "Kamlesh" and MiniCape Vessel "Arun", in a series of six that ESL will induct into its operations.|
This newest addition to ESL's growing fleet, MiniCape Vessel "Ishwari", is a MiniCape which is 253 metre long, 43 metre wide and has a cargo capacity of 105,000 dwt. With its uniquely designed hull to ensure larger carrying capacity with minimal draft requirements, ESL is confident that these MiniCape vessels will make trade to the Indian coast more economical and cost effective for clients in the Power, Steel and other core sectors.
ESL operates a diversified fleet of 26 vessels, including VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carrier), Capesizes, MiniCapes, Supermaxes, mini bulk carriers and tugs. With the addition of "Ishwari", the company's shipping tonnage totals 1.9 million tonnes, which will reach 2.6 million tonnes with the completion of the current expansion plan.
