Japan's largest electric steelmaker Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has increased what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y500/ton for all grades at its four works except the Takamatsu works, effective with March 27 arrivals. |
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y35,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y34,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y35,000/ton for seaborne arrivals and Y34,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y35,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Tahara works; and Y34,000/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works.
Tokyo Steel's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged this time at its Takamatsu works. The delivered price of No2 HMS is Y32,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals.
