Japan SUS Product Exports Drop - July 2012
= Down 11% from June; exports to most of the major destinations dropped =
Japan Iron and Steel Federation compiled the Trade Statistics released from the Ministry of Finance into the table as attached hereto with regard to Japan's exports of stainless steel products during July 2012.

Total exports in July were 94,326 tons, down 11.1% from June, to dip below the 100,000-ton level.

Comparison with June by destination shows, <> China: down 14.4%, <> Korea: down 7.9%, <> Taiwan: down 24.9%, <> U.S.A.: down 9.4%, and <> Thailand: down 25.1%. All declined.

Total value of the exports in July was US$414.506 million. The averaged unit price on all the exports was US$4,394/ton, up 4.6% from the preceding month due to the higher unit price of the exported products all the major destinations but Taiwan.

Total exports of special steel products including SUS products in July were 638,497 tons, down 5.8% from June. Exports of special steel products "excluding" SUS products were 544,171 tons, down 4.8% from June.
