Turkish Chrome Ore Exports Decline Continue - October 2012
= 103,541 tons, down 7%; exports to China recovered =
Turkey's exports of chrome ore during October 2012 as well as the ten-month period (January - October) of 2012 are as per the attached table hereto. The exports during October were 103,541 tons, down 6.6% from 110,861 tons exported in September. After the large drop in August the downward trend continued.

Breakdown of the exports by destination is also in the attached table, showing that the exports to China, the biggest importer, recovered from the large drops two months in a row, but October was the month without big shipments to Sweden, making the total exports less than in September. No shipment to Netherlands in the month following September.

The aggregated exports during the ten months (January - October) in 2012 amounted to 1,722,161 tons, down 5.3% from the same period of 2011. Exports to China during the 10 months failed to keep a higher level than the exports recorded during the same period of 2011.
