JFE to Set Up JV of Pipes for Automobiles in China
JFE Steel announced on 16th that the company reached an agreement to establish a joint venture (JV) in China to manufacture and market small diameter electric resistance welded (ERW) pies and cold drawn steel pipes mainly for automobiles jointly with Kawasaki Kokan, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JFE Steel, Marubeni-Itochu Steel and Shuan Hwa Industrial Company of Taiwan.

The name of the JV is Jiaxing JFE Precision Steel Pipe located in Zhejiang Province, China, and is expected to be set up in October, 2013. Its production capacity is about 2,000 tons a month, and its start-up of production is scheduled in January, 2015.

JFE Steel and its group company own a total of 51% shares of that JV.
