On June 18, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced the production volume of stainless steel products (hot-rolled products) in April 2013 was 230,342 tons, which was a decrease of 3.6% from the prior month.|
The breakdown is <> Chrome-type: 106,005 tons (Cr-type: 89,314 tons, Cr-Mo-type: 16,691 tons), slightly up by 0.3% from the prior month and <> Nickel-type: 124,337 tons (Cr-Mn-type: 3,949 tons, Ni-Cr-type: 95,853 tons and Ni-Cr-Mo-type: 24,535 tons), down by 6.7% ditto. All the items except Cr-Mo-type out of Chrome-type were down from the prior month. Besides, the production of other special steels was 7,297 tons, down by 8.5% from the prior month.
For a reference, the inventory of stainless steel mills as of end April was <> Stainless steel products: 116,876 tons (up by 3.7% from the prior month) and <> Other special steels: 3,562 tons (up by 9.4% ditto). The details are as per the table as below.
