Crude Steel Production by Major SUS Mills in April Is 303,511 Tons
=Up by 8% from prior month, and production is recovered in new fiscal year=
The crude steel production by seven major stainless steel mills in April 2013 was 303,511 tons, which represents an increase of 8.3% versus the prior month (280,319 tons). The adjustment in production at the end of the fiscal year was over and the production volume has been recovered in the new fiscal year which surpasses the result in the prior month and represents a decrease of 9.3% versus the year- earlier month (334,632 tons

As far as the breakdown by plant is concerned, Hikari Works of Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel Corporation which is supposed to have a regular repair in May has turned its production to downward trend from the previous upward trend, and Kawasaki Works of Nippon Yakin Kogyo Co., Ltd. also has turned its production downward which increased its production in March. As the production volume by other millls increased, the total sum made a record of 300,000 tons in a single month for the first time in 3 months.
