Sweden's state-run company, LKAB announced that Peter Schmid, who is 55 years of age, currently President of the LKAB subsidiary LKAB Wassara AB, has been appointed Senior Vice President Sales for the LKAB Group and will be stationed at LKAB's head office in Lulea, northern part of Sweden. He will assume his new position in 1 August 2013. LKAB's sales and marketing unit has offices in, among other locations, Lulea, Essen, Brussels and Singapore, and will open a new office in Dubai during autumn 2013.

Before joining the LKAB Group in autumn 2011, Peter Schmid was business area manager at water-technology company Xylem Inc., where he headed the group's dewatering division and was a member of group management.

"Peter's broad experience of international sales and marketing with a strong focus on strategic work will be a valuable complement to LKAB's global sales organization," said LKAB's President and Group CEO, Lars-Eric Aaro.
