|Japan's June Iron & Steel Exports: 3,618,000 Tons|

Japan's exports of iron and steel products totaled 3,618,000 tons in June 2014, down 2.1% from the same month of a year ago, indicating a year-on-year decrease for 10 consecutive months, according to the Japan Iron & Steel Federation. |
Of the total exports, ordinary steel products accounted for 2,309,000 tons, down 3.2% from the same month of a year ago, indicating a year-on-year fall for eight consecutive months.
Of the ordinary steel products exported, HR coils made up 1,018,000 tons, up 4.6% from the same month of a year ago; galvanized sheets 327,000 tons, down 6.8%; CR sheets 230,000 tons, down 10.4%; heavy plates 202,000 tons, down 27.9%; shapes 73,000 tons, down 19.9%; electrical sheets 73,000 tons, up 4.3%; welded and butt-welded pipes 69,000 tons, up 3.9%; wire rods 60,000 tons, down 0.2%; and seamless pipes 55,000 tons, up 15.9%.
In the breakdown of the total exports by main destinations, South Korea took 595,000 tons, down 10.8% from the same month of a year ago; China 520,000 tons, up 5.2%; Thailand 444,000 tons, down 4.0%; Taiwan 322,000 tons, down 12.7%; and the USA 211,000 tons, up 17.4%.
