The production and sales quantity for the 1st half of the fiscal year (April-September) of NMDC, an Indian state-run company, marked a record high having exceeded the previous record in the same period of 2011. Its production quantity was 14,389 thousand tons (abbreviated as t/t), up 11.9% from the same period last year, which exceeded the previous record of 13,154 t/t in the same period of 2011 by 1,235 t/t or 9.4%. Its sales quantity for the 1st half year was 15,859 t/t, up 15.3% ditto, which also exceeded the previous record of 14,445 t/t in the same period of 2011 by 1,414 t/t or 9.8%.|
As a consequence, its sales turnover was Rs 65.8 billion (about 122.4 billion yen at Re 1=1.86 yen), and its profit before tax was Rs 34.8 billion (about 64.7 billion yen). Of these, its sales turnover hit a record high.
Shri Narendra, CMD, said, "NMDC will achieve production and sales quantity of more than 32 million tons for this year and appreciates the efforts of the employees for displaying determined approach to achieve production of more than 50 million tons by 2018-19 to meet the rising demand of the steel industry," and so on.
