|Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices except Arrivals at Tahara Works|
Japan's Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the pricing leader pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500-1,000/ton at the company's facilities except the Tahara works, effective with Dec 25 arrivals, which indicates a fifth price reduction of its kind since the beginning of December. |
A price cutback of Y500/ton applies to all grades of seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works and all grades of overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works. Another price cutback of Y1,000/ton applies to all grades of seaborne/overland arrivals at the Kyushu works and the Takamatsu steel center.
As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y25,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y25,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y26,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works; and Y24,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Takamatsu steel center.
Tokyo Steel's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged at its Tahara works where the delivered price of No2 HMS is settled at Y27,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals.
