|Golar to Develop FLNG Project in Cameroon|
|= Signed Heads of Agreement with Societe Nationale de Hydrocarbures (Cameroon) =|
Golar LNG announced on December 24 that it signed a Heads of Agreement with Societe Nationale de Hydrocarbures, a national oil and gas company of Cameroon (SNH), and Perenco Cameroon for the development of an LNG production/export project employing Golar's floating natural gas liquefying unit (FLNG). Start-up of LNG production (1.20 million tonnes per year) is scheduled in the first half of 2017.|
Golar intends to send in its "HILLI", an FLNG being converted from an LNG tanker, to 20 kilometers offshore of Cameroon for liquefying, on a tolling basis, a total of 500 Bcf (10 million tonnes of LNG equivalent) of natural gas extracted from the Kribi offshore field for SNH and Perenco who are to supply the gas as the owners of the field.
"HILLI" is scheduled to serve the project for about 8 years, producing about 1.2 million tpy of LNG.
The parties expect definitive agreements on the project will be executed during the first half of 2015. This project will be the first floating LNG project in Africa, if developed on schedule.
