Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices by Y500 at Three Facilities
Japan's Tokyo Steel Mfg Co has reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by a uniform Y500/ton for all grades at its three facilities, effective with July 1 arrivals. The three facilities are the Okayama works, the Utsunomiya works and the Takamatsu steel center.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y24,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y25,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works; and Y24,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Takamatsu steel center.

The company's purchase prices of local ferrous scrap remain unchanged at its Tahara and Kyushu works. The delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y25,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Tahara works and Y25,500/ton for the corresponding arrivals at the Kyushu works.
