Tokyo Steel Cuts Scrap Purchase Prices by Y500-1,000 at All Facilities
Japan's Tokyo Steel Mfg Co reduced what the company pays for locally available ferrous scrap by Y500-1,000/ton from July 11 at all its facilities.

One price reduction of Y500/ton applies to seaborne/overland arrivals of all grades at the Okayama works and the Takamatsu steel center. A second price reduction of Y1,000/ton applies to seaborne/overland arrivals of all grades at the Kyushu works and overland arrivals of all grades at the Utsunomiya works. A third price reduction of Y500/ton applies to seaborne/overland arrivals of grades except pressed turnings and steel turnings at the Tahara works.

As a result, the new delivered prices of No2 HMS are Y24,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Tahara works; Y23,000/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Okayama works; Y23,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Kyushu works; Y23,500/ton for overland arrivals at the Utsunomiya works; and Y22,500/ton for seaborne/overland arrivals at the Takamatsu steel center.
