Japan's Purchase Price of HC FeCr for Jul-Sept Down by US Cents 44
= US Cents 118 per lb, due to slumping price in China =
Japanese stainless steel mills have continued negotiation with multiple foreign ferro-chrome producers to fix the purchase price of high-carbon ferro-chrome for the period from July to September in 2017, and have this time come to an agreement on the price to be down by US Cents 44 from the prior period. The price is US Cents 118 per lb by estimate and resulted in the same level as the one in the period from October to December in 2016.

The main factors for the fact that the price this time has been drastically down from the prior period are the price of high-carbon ferro-chrome hovering at a low level in China and the benchmark price for Europe being down by US Cents 44 from the prior period.

The transition of the prices since the year 2016 is <> During January to March in 2016: Cents 100 (down by Cents 12 from the prior period), <> During April to June: Cents 90 (down by Cents 10 ditto), <> During July to September: Cents 106 (up by Cents 16 ditto), <> During October to December: Cents 118 (up by Cents 12 ditto), <> During January to March in 2017: Cents 173 (up by Cents 55 ditto), <> During April to June: Cents 162 (down by Cents 11 ditto) and <> During July to September: Cents 118 (down by Cents 44 ditto).
