|China's Crude Steel Output in Jun Hits Record High of 73,230 t/t|
According to data released on 17th by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, its crude steel production in June was 73,230 thousand tons (abbreviated as t/t), up 1.3% from the previous month and also up 5.7% from the same month last year, which hit a record high having exceeded a past record of 72,780 t/t in April this year. And, its production quantity per day was 2,441 t/t, which also hit a record high having exceeded a past record of 2,426 t/t in April this year. |
Its crude steel production in June recorded the level of 70 million tons for 4 months in a row. In that country, production equipment and facilities of so-called substandard long products were eliminated till June. Such products were not included in production statistics but were put on the market. It is presumed that production was raised to replenish a decrease in output of substandard long products to some extent. As a result, its cumulative production quantity of crude steel in January-June was 419,750 t/t, up 4.6% from the same period last year. If it is simply doubled, its production quantity at an annualized rate is 839,500 t/t, which becomes the level of 800 million tons for 5 years in a row and hit a record high exceeding a past record of 822,310 t/t in 2014.
Its production quantity of pig iron in June was 61,680 t/t, down 0.1% ditto for 2 months in a row and up 2.2% ditto, which was the level of 60 million tons for 4 months in a row. Its production quantity per day was 2,056 t/t, up 3.3% from the previous month. Its cumulative production quantity in the same period was 362,560 t/t, up 3.4% ditto.
That of steel products was 97,570 t/t, up 1.9% ditto and also up 0.7% ditto, which increased for 4 months in a row and was the 5th highest level in the past. Its cumulative production quantity in the same period was 551,550 t/t, up 1.1% ditto. If this pace goes on, it is predicted also to become the level of 110 million tons in the calendar year 2017 for 4 years in a row.
