According to Japan's trade statistics released by the Ministry of Finance Japan, its export quantity of steel H-beams in September 2017 was 23.5 thousand tons (abbreviated as t/t), up 37.9% from the previous month and also up 31.9% from the same month last year, which had reached the level of 20 t/t since May this year. Its cumulative export quantity in January-September was 151.6 t/t, down 39.2% from the same period last year. The average unit price of its exports in September was 61,000 yen ($557) FOB per ton, being flat from the previous month. That in July was 68,000 yen ($604) but its average export price had not recovered yet. |
By main destination of H-beam exports in September, its exports were 8.2 t/t to Korea, 5.3 t/t to Singapore, 1.4 t/t to Malaysia, 2.4 t/t to the Philippines, 2.2 t/t to Bangladesh, 2.3 t/t to Mexico and so on. Its exports to Bangladesh were for the first time this year.
While, its import quantity of H-beams in September was 7.6 t/t, up 14.3% from the previous month and also up 47.1% from the same month last year, all of which were imported from Korea. Its cumulative import quantity from Korea in January-September was 59.0 t/t, up 2.44 times from the same period last year. Its cumulative import quantity in the same period was 76.0 t/t in total, up 2.0 times ditto.
