|Argentina Ships First Commercial LNG Cargo|
|= Produced at Exmar's FLNG; second tanker at port =|
Argentina exported its first commercially produced LNG. Belgium Exmar's LNG carrier "Excalibur" is delivering the first cargo produced at a Floating LNG vessel "Tango FLNG" that Exmar supplied to the country. The carrier is reportedly heading to the Atlantic Ocean.|
The first shipment was announced by Exmar on 13th. Tango FLNG is its barge-type FLNG vessel with a liquefaction capacity of 0.5 million mt per annum. The FLNG is now at the Port of Bahia Blanca and is being used by YPF under a 10-year charter deal.
Commissioning LNG from the FLNG was exported this June. "Methane Kali Elin" which is likely to load the second commercial cargo has already arrived at the port by 11th. However the low-capacity LNG facility is expected to take one month or more to export.
YPF produces LNG using shale gas from the Vaca Muerta block. It is also planning a large-scale onshore LNG terminal with a capacity of 5-10 mtpa for the block with abundant gas reserves.
YPF intends to supply LNG to Asian markets etc. where demand season is different from the Southern Hemisphere.
